This site utilizes the baby name data provided by the SSA to explore many interesting patterns and trends in the naming of babies. This site is primarily here to entertain anybody and everybody who has a name and knows people with names. However, this site might also be an excellent tool to help you decide upon a special name for a special baby.

• Gender Neutral Baby Names - Here you will find a list of names that our analysis finds to be the most gender neutral. Some of the boy/girl names on the list include Skyler and Peyton.
  
  
• Old Fashioned Baby Names - The names that grace this list once enjoyed great popularity in their heyday. This should serve as due notice that not all popular names maintain their appeal. Some of our old fashioned names include Homer, Ethel, Archie, and Gertrude.
  
  
• Popular Baby Names - O.K. there was no analysis necessary on this one since it is basically the raw data provided by the SSA. However, it still interesting to list the most popular baby names together with their chronological history of baby name popularity.
  
  
• Traditional Baby Names - These names have stood the test of time and have remained popular for the last 100 years. Based on the religious demographics of the United States, it isn't a surprise that Mary and Joseph found their way towards the top of the traditional names list.
  
  
• Alternative Baby Names - These are names that essentially first introduced n the 1990s. Well, to be exact, these are names that were not in the lists of the top 1000 names for any decade from the 1900s through 1980s. Some examples of the alternative names on this list are Jordyn and Tevin. Make note of the downturns that some of the names on the list have taken.
  
  
• Exotic Baby Names - These are names that made their first showing in the top 1000 baby name lists in 2001. Many of these will probably prove themselves to be trendy. Regardless, some do sound pretty cool like Omarion, Ximena, Cadence, and Gael.
